fraid i dont know who Matthew Collins is, but what about this:

Do you think that low budget 'indie' films are used as R+D for ideas by the big film studios?

If so how can an unknown director get the recognition he/she deserves for their original ideas without being ripped off?

If not then how flexible is the big cinema machine towards 'live' experimentation?

Was art ever alive? Is modern art just another manifestation of media driven demand to satisfy the noveau poor? Is the Turner Prize just another self-important brand in a world of brands?

Is it fair to say Art has become a commercial world with things liek the turner prize just being another brand in a world full of brands just to satisdy the media driven demmand ?

and like any commercial product the crap out weighs everything else by ten to one ?

and with mass access to new forms of art such as anyone can pick up a DV camera and shoot something, how can you distinquish what true art is ?
